Please can anyone offer clarity on community charges.

I paid 940 euros on account when I completed on my 3b/2b upper penthouse on pm2, completion date March the 13th 2007.  I understand that owners are only liable for community charges from the date of completion and the community charge is paid a quarter in advance.

The charge for my apartment based on my quotient (area share) is 2764.98 euros equivalent to 691.25 euros per quarter 

Therefore the payment of 940 euros is equivalent to 1.36 quarters, in effect 4 month's worth. This should mean that the charge is paid for the period 13th March to 13th June approx.

Therefore, I was surprised that I received an email last week from Ammex saying that I owe then 800+ euros in back charge and also that the rate per quarter had increased to 800+ euros per quarter up from the 691.25 !

Can anybody help me understand the charging process and why the charge has increased  by over 100 euros, otherwise I will have to contact my lawyer and Peter Lund our President. Of course I have not paid anything through to Ammex yet.

I suggest you all check what you are actually paying and make sure it is correct.

I would agree with your understanding of how it should work, etc - I would take it up with Ammex, if I were you, explain what you think it should be, what you've paid and then ask why it's different.

I received an email from AMMEX today detailing the full minutes of the recent AGM. The minutes contain a section in relation to an invcease in fees for the period May 2007 to April 2008. This eqautes to about 17%!

Has anybody else read this yet ?
